Bygdsiljum is located in Västerbotten county, in the north of Sweden. The village is approximately half way between the towns of Skellefteå (50 minute drive) and Umeå (60 minute drive). The village is situated at the outlet of the largest lake in Västerbotten and is surrounded by nature.

The population of Bygdsiljum is 350 and we have approximately 110 houses, some of which are available to rent through Bygdsiljum Utvecking (BUAB). If you're interested in getting on the waiting list, you can email BUAB by clicking here.

The village also has everything you will need on a day to day basis. There is a local ICA that acts as the local pharmacy, post office and off-license (weekly deliveries from Systembolaget), a café famous for homemade ice cream with wonderful views of the lake and not forgetting Sweden's largest and date I write it, best coastal ski resort, that in the summer becomes a downhill biking park.

There is also a school in the village for children up to 6th grade, a local church and community hall.

It's often also said that Bygdsiljum has more jobs than people. Some of the companies in Bygdsiljum include Martinsons, Umesläp and BVS Rör.
